1. Frame & Layout Topology
The production line frame is constructed with high-strength 4040 / 4080 industrial aluminum profiles in a modular design, featuring a neat appearance and convenient structural modification. Considering tower fans are compact, lightweight yet slender elongated appliances, the line adopts a combined layout of straight sections and flexible transition segments, with additional 90° corner mechanisms arranged partially.
The worktop is covered with 3 mm green anti-static rubber sheet (surface resistance: 10⁶ ~ 10⁹ Ω), which effectively prevents electrostatic breakdown and damage to precision control boards and touch display screens. A dustproof integrated LED lighting system is installed overhead with illuminance ≥ 500 Lux to guarantee shadow-free working areas.
2. Core Conveying System
For elongated cylindrical workpieces, the core conveying unit adopts a flat top chain conveyor (bottle gripper chain / cylindrical carrier chain). Chain plates are manufactured from POM or aluminum alloy with scratch-resistant surface treatment; clamping spacing can be precisely adjusted to accommodate tower fan cylinders with diameters ranging from 80 mm to 120 mm, avoiding tipping or shaking of slender products during transportation.
Driving power is supplied by variable frequency geared motors enabling stepless speed regulation from 0 to 15 m/min. Magnetic curved chain plates or timing belt embedded transitions are applied at line corners to ensure smooth product turning.
3. Ergonomic Assistance System (Precision Power-Assist Equipment)
Light-duty pneumatic balance cranes (or aluminum rail systems) are longitudinally arranged along the production line:
- Rated lifting load: 10 kg – 20 kg (matched for plastic casings and internal wind wheel assemblies)
- Operation features: The assist arm supports 360° rotation and floating mode for assembling air deflectors and front grilles on the top of tower fans. Operators only need gentle pushing force to accurately insert elongated components into narrow base interfaces, greatly alleviating fatigue caused by prolonged overhead work.
4. Workstation Facilities & Wiring Harness Management
- Dedicated cable hanging racks: Serpentine cable conduits and cable splitters are installed above each workstation to orderly arrange intricate internal wires of tower fans (power cords, motor leads, heating element wires) and prevent cables from being cut by metal components during assembly.
- Quick-change fixture base plates: Positioning pin-equipped quick-change base boards are mounted on the work surface. Operators can rotate and replace grille pressing strips and base fixing components to realize mixed production of multiple variants (aroma-enabled, remote-controlled models, etc.).
5. Informatization & Error Prevention (ATE & MES System)
- Electrical safety test interfaces: In view of the “Danger: High Voltage” warning marked on equipment, standardized communication interfaces (RS232 / IO trigger) for hipot testers and leakage current testers are reserved at workstations. At the power-on testing station, the system automatically connects to fan plugs to conduct high-voltage withstand tests; the workstation will trigger audible alarms and lock automatically if safety thresholds are not met.
- Visualized SOP Guidance: Suspended industrial monitors are mounted above stations. After barcode scanning via the MES system, 3D exploded views of the corresponding tower fan model are displayed automatically, with internal air duct assembly sequences highlighted to avert motor burnout caused by reversed wiring connections.
6. Tooling Fixtures
Fixtures are precision CNC-machined from anti-static bakelite or imported PA66 nylon sheets.
- Fool-proof positioning: The fixture is equipped with a central positioning groove for the main tower fan cylinder, which only allows insertion in one fixed direction via fool-proof design, ensuring correct orientation of air inlets and outlets.
- Pre-inspection for dynamic balance: A simple dynamic balance detection sensor is integrated into fixtures at the pre-final assembly workstation. Audible and visual alarms will be activated if eccentricity exists in assembled impellers, eliminating abnormal vibration and noise of finished fans during operation.
