Monitor Assembly Line

This is a highly efficient, automated final assembly line specifically designed for the manufacturing of LCD monitors and commercial advertising displays. Addressing the delicate nature of large glass panels and the complexity of electronic module integration, this production system utilizes a dual-speed chain conveyor​ combined with ergonomic independent workstations. This design ensures stable handling of heavy assemblies while providing operators with optimal space and tools for precision tasks.

I. Conveyor System & Layout Configuration

The backbone of this monitor assembly line is a robust dual-speed chain (Welt conveyor) system. This mechanism allows products to accumulate or “queue up” automatically if a downstream station is congested, preventing jams without stopping the entire line. A key feature is the vertical lift station​ in the center, which transports completed lower assemblies from the lower level to the upper level, effectively creating a two-tiered production flow within the same footprint. Each workstation features an adjustable-height tabletop and is enclosed by anti-static PVC soft curtains to protect sensitive electronics.

II. Core Assembly Process Flow

The workflow is sequenced to ensure the safe handling of display components:

1. Back Cover Fixation:​ Secure the plastic rear housing and install the power supply socket, stand base, and support brackets.
2. Module Installation (BLU):​ At dedicated stations, affix LED backlight strips onto the metal backplate, followed by the careful mounting of the LCD glass panel.
3. Electrical Wiring & Pre-test:​ Connect the main control PCB to the panel cable and perform an initial power-on test to check for dead pixels or severe light leakage.
4. Final Casing:​ Snap on the front bezel, secure all screws (often using automated nut runners), and apply nameplates and energy efficiency labels.
5. Aging Test:​ Move to the offline aging rack area for a minimum 30-minute burn-in to identify early-life failures.

III. Quality Control & Testing Architecture

The line integrates signal generators and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) interfaces directly into the assembly flow. If a unit fails the backlight flicker test, shows no signal output, or has defective control buttons, the PLC halts the conveyor and diverts the faulty monitor to a rework lane. This inline testing ensures that only fully functional units proceed to packaging.
