Product Details

This laptop assembly line is engineered for the precision final assembly of consumer and commercial notebook computers. Unlike conventional appliance lines, this system utilizes a dual-layer architecture combining an overhead monorail with a ground-level walking beam conveyor, integrated within a controlled cleanroom environment to meet stringent ESD and particulate standards.

I. Conveyor System & Physical Layout

The backbone of this notebook PC production line features an overhead monorail system. Product pallets travel along elevated I-beams, freeing up valuable floor space for precision equipment. On the ground level, a servo-driven walking beam conveyor provides precise indexing to each station. Vertical towers positioned along the line integrate PLC cabinets, pneumatic components, and HMIs, allowing independent control at each workstation.

II. ESD & Cleanliness Control

The entire line is maintained at ISO Class 7 cleanliness. A defining feature is the green translucent anti-static curtains (ESD Shield) enclosing each station. These create a Faraday cage effect, protecting sensitive ICs from electrostatic discharge. The ceiling is fitted with perforated panels connected to FFU (Fan Filter Units), generating vertical laminar flow to prevent particulate contamination on keyboards and LCD surfaces.

III. Core Assembly Process

  1. Base Pre-assembly: Mounting RAM, M.2 SSDs, and thermal modules onto the mainboard.
  2. Keyboard & Top Case Marriage: Press-fitting the keyboard assembly into the top case (C-cover) followed by screw fastening.
  3. Hinge & Display Connection: Installing the LCD module and connecting the eDP cable, requiring high-precision torque control.
  4. Initial Function Test (ICT): Power-on self-test (POST) to verify signal integrity across the motherboard.
  5. Burn-in Testing: Loading software routines (e.g., MemTest) to stress-test components under operational loads.
  6. Final Cosmetic Inspection: Checking for A-cover scratches, camera lens dirt, and fingerprint reader sensitivity.

IV. Inspection & Traceability

Machine vision (AOI) systems monitor screw height and cable seating. The MES binds component serial numbers (CPU/DRAM) to the finished unit’s barcode, enabling full forward and backward traceability. In the event of a component batch failure, affected units can be identified instantly.

V. Technical Specifications

  • Takt Time: 12–18 seconds/unit
  • Compatible Size: 11.6–17.3 inches (Full range)
  • ESD Protection: Grounding impedance <4Ω
  • Cleanroom Standard: ISO 7 (Class 10,000)
  • Drive Mechanism: Servo motor with precision indexer
  • Yield Rate: ≥99.2%

VI. Design Advantages

This laptop manufacturing line replaces crude belt transport with high-precision indexing, eliminating vibration damage. The overhead design not only optimizes space but also provides maintenance crews with unobstructed access to equipment from below, ensuring a balance between high uptime and low defect rates.
